How To Make Crumbs: Irish Coffee Cake

Today’s installment of coffee cakes from around the world hails from Ireland via Laura at The Spiced Life. The whiskey alone makes this a MUST HAVE. The recipe has all our favorite ingredients – coffee, Irish Whiskey, espresso – need we say more. #easytoeat and definitely #funtoshare.

Irish Coffee Bundt Cake: #BundtBakers


For cake:

  • ½ cup strong coffee
  • ¼ cup Irish Whiskey
  • 1 t instant espresso powder
  • ¼ cup agave syrup (or honey if you don’t mind a honey flavor)
  • ¾ cup (1½ sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1½ cups brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2¼ cups Steiner’s Coffee Cake of New York All-Purpose Flour
  • ¼ cup potato starch
  • 3 t baking powder
  • ¼ t baking soda
  • ¼ t salt
  • 2 t vanilla paste

For glaze:

  • ¼ cup butter, browned
  • 2 scant cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 T heavy cream
  • 2 t Irish Whiskey
